  5. Turn the Left Main on (that would be the Stage Right main - the one by the bassist)
  6. Select the configuration for the music team

Selecting the Music Team configuration[edit]

  • Turn on the mixer (you can't do this if it's turned off!)
  1. In the "Scenes" section (middle far-right of the board), click the "View" button
  2. Use the left-most rotary knob to select the Scene you want
  3. Push the left-most rotary knob to load the scene
  4. Tap the [Page Select]/[Yes] button to confirm loading the scene over the current configuration

  1. Mute everybody
  2. Set everything to Unity
    1. Mains
    2. Mixdowns
    3. Instruments
  3. Unmute the loudest instrument
  4. Use the "Gain" knob to set the volume level for the room

For each new input:

  1. Select the input
  2. Unmute the input
  3. Make sure the sliders are at unity
  4. Use the "Config/Preamp Gain" knob to blend the input well with the loudest instrument
  5. Mute the input

Fine-Tune Mix (after Zeroing the board or loading a saved configuration)[edit]

  1. Unmute all of the instruments
  2. Use the sliders to select the "fine-tune" mix
  3. Generally, the loudest instrument shouldn't be changed

Feedback[edit]

  • (If possible, both the microphone and the speaker)
  1. Identify the cause of the feedback
    1. Turn up the mains volume to make the feedback constant
    2. One at a time, mute and unmute the inputs. When muting the instrument stops the feedback, you have found the instrument.
    3. One at a time, mute and unmute the monitors. When muting the monitor stops the feedback, you have found the speaker.
  2. Turn the mains volume back down to give everybody's ears a break
  3. Take a breather
  4. warn everybody it's gonna feed back again
  5. Select the offending input
  6. Increase the volume on the input until feedback starts again
  7. Push the "View" button on the Equalizer panel (Top row, second group, counting from the left)
  8. Identify the frequency that is feeding back
  9. Push the button for the frequency selection unit that is nearest the feedback frequency
  10. Change the Equalizer mode to "VEQ" (Press the [Mode] button until VEQ is selected
  11. Use the Equalizer "Freq" knob to move the selection line so that it is over the feedback frequency
  12. Rotate the Equalizer "Gain" knob counter-clockwise until the feedback goes away.
  13. Return the input device volume to it's original state

If you were able to find the offending speaker/monitor (and it wasn't the mains or the overheads):

  1. Select the offending speaker/monitor
  2. repeat the process of isolating and reducing the offending frequency

(Increase the speaker volume to create feedback, find the frequency, pick an isolator line, put the line over the frequency, drop the gain)

Adding new input (instrument/microphone)[edit]

  1. Press the [Select] button for the channel you want to represent that instrument/microphone
