Collaborative Game Development

From Earl's Test Wiki

The idea behind this page is to represent the collaborative effort between Earl and Bryan. I didn't think it was appropriate to integrate what we will be doing together with what you had already done. So I am thinking this could be a launch page for not only specific projects but also other things like resources, tech, graphics that would be common to all the projects.

Technologies[edit]

These are technologies related to the development, testing, deployment, data storage, etc.. in Android applications we should look at.

Deployment[edit]

Google Play Store[edit]

The primary deployment option I think we should look at first due to its wide acceptance, there are other options but for now, let's focus on this.

Player Experience[edit]

Unity Graphics[edit]

High learning curve but very high-end results, if we can figure it out. No in-house experience with this...

HTML Graphics[edit]

We have in-house experience and depending on the need it will most likely be the graphics interface we will initially use.

Income Generation[edit]

We need to start educating ourselves on how to integrate advertising into the application. The odds are we aren't going to make money at first, but who knows we may get lucky... :-)

Types of Advertising[edit]

We wouldn't have the same type of advertising for games as we would have for utility applications.

Utility Apps[edit]

I found this [1] link to an article that talked about the 8 best mobile add networks but it looks like those are related to android utility application and desktop application advertising.

Gaming Apps[edit]

Nice To Have[edit]

Optional items but would really be nice to have.

Google Play[edit]

This is different than the store, this is the integration of the app with the Google gaming API. Where players get XP and other accomplishments that we define for our game. Although this could be a "nice to have" option users seem to really like to have this.

Here is an article I found on this. [2]
